Wine lovers will find their paradise in Rioja Alavesa, part of the celebrated Rioja wine-producing area. Our tours include visits to both historic wineries and modern vineyards where you can learn about the wine-making process from vine to bottle tasting exquisite varieties of Rioja. However, Txakoli is the traditional wine of the Basque Country, made from local grapes, almost 98% of which are white and the main grape is called Hondarrabi zuri. These vines grow next to the sea and are tempered by Atlantic climate. It’s a white wine with high acidity, pale yellow color, medium to low alcohol and aromas of citrus fruit and white flowers, a light and lively wine. The modern style is a more gastronomic, structured wine, which is made with aging on lees or in oak. Wine tasting txakoli will be combined with vineyard visits, cultural and nature tours.
