St Paul\u2019s Cray, 1946) lives and works in Manhattan. Occupying a space between sculpture, cinema and drawing, his work\u2019s historical importance has been recognized in such exhibitions as \u201cInto the Light: the Projected Image in American Art 1964-77,\u201d Whitney Museum of American Art (2001-2); \u201cThe Expanded Screen: Actions and Installations of the Sixties and Seventies,\u201d Museum Moderner Kunst, Vienna (2003-4); \u201cThe Expanded Eye,\u201d Kunsthaus Zurich (2006); \u201cBeyond Cinema: the Art of Projection,\u201d Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin (2006-7); \u201cThe Cinema Effect: Illusion, Reality and the Projected Image,\u201d Hirshhorn Museum, Washington DC (2008); and \u201cOn Line,\u201d Museum of Modern Art (2010-11).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the past year he has mounted solo exhibitions at The Hepworth Wakefield, Pioneer Works, Sean Kelly Gallery, Albright Knox Art Gallery, and Galeria Cayon.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Anthony McCall (b.
