The coast is mostly formed by erosional landforms, which give rise to a series of cliffs that slide down to the sea. The sensitivity of this coast to marine erosion is due to the abundance of rainfall, the strong waves, the structure of alternating hard and soft layers (“flysch”), and the subvertical position of the strata.
